ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
NORMAL ENTRY
- 5 ‘O’ Level passes or equivalent including English Language
- At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes preferrably Arts and Humanities.
SPECIAL ENTRY
- Certificate or Diploma in Development Studies from recognized institutions of higher learning or its equivalent.
- 5 ‘O’ Level passes or equivalent including English Language.
MATURE ENTRY
- 5 ‘O’ Level passes or equivalent including English Language
- At least 25 years of age.
- In addition, a candidate may be required to undertake an entry examination administered by the Department as part of the process of satisfying entry requirements for admission into the programme.
MODE OF ENTRY
- Conventional-4-year degree program
- Block Release-3-year degree program and Proof of employment is a prerequisite for one to study under this mode.
CAREER PROSPECTS
- Graduates of development studies have got career prospects in various directorates both at national and international level.
- On an international scale, students can be employed by Inter-governmental organizations such as the United Nations (UN) and regional organizations such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
- Equally important, being a multi-faceted academic discipline, development studies is grounded in research and sustainable development. This then confirms that graduates can become independent researchers and can even be hired by internationally recognized research institutions.
- Over and above, successful students are also guaranteed to be employed in various government departments and other specialized humanitarian agencies as Civic Educators, Advocacy Officers, Project Managers & Project Planners.
