Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Human Resources Management

The department of Business Studies offers a four-year undergraduate degree programme in Human Resources Management. The degree programme is designed for applicants who wish to pursue a career in Human Resource Management. The thrust of this programme is to produce professional who can positively influence the performance of employees for 21st century organisations. Furthermore, due to the uniqueness of labour services, there is need for influential and efficient human resource managers.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

NORMAL ENTRY

  • 5’ Ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics with Grade ‘C’ or better.
  • 2 ‘A’ Level passes, of which one should preferably be a commercial subject.


SPECIAL ENTRY

  • Holders of relevant Diplomas, Higher National Diplomas including Human Resources Management and Degree holders from other disciplines as approved by the university.
  • Candidate admitted under National Diploma above will normally be exempted from Level 1 on a module-by-module basis upon application.
  • Candidates who have successfully completed the Higher National Diploma in Human resources management or have obtained equivalent qualifications may apply for direct entry into Level II of the degree programme, subject to availability of places.
  • General provisions for a four year degree programme apply except for special entry students who can complete the program in three years.
  • Work related learning and assessment can run concurrently with Level II studies for candidates who are continuously employed in the relevant field for a period of not less than 10 months.
  • No candidate may complete the degree in less than two academic Levels.


MATURE ENTRY

  • 25 years and above with 5 O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics graded ‘C’ or better
