Bachelor of Education Honours Degree in Early Childhood Development

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


To be admitted into the Bachelor of Education degree in Early Childhood Education one must satisfy the general entry regulations and must also meet the following requirements that pertain to the Bachelor of Education (ECD), in-service degree /pre-service.


  • Possession of 5 O’level passes including English language and Mathematics
  • 2’A ‘level subject passes for pre-service.
  • Possession of a Diploma in Education in Infant Education or Early Childhood /Pre-school or its equivalent recognised by Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University;
  • Attain a satisfactory standard of performance on any entrance test which the University may devise for the purpose of entry and/application.


CAREER PROSPECTS


Graduates of the Early Childhood Education degree are qualified to:

  • Work in non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that deal with the welfare of children.
  • Manage Early Childhood Development centres as well as infant care units in hospitals;
  • Train professionals in this field;
  • Teach in the ECD section of the Primary school or Infant School Education;
  • Become education officers responsible for either Early Childhood Development or Infant School Education;
  • Become Curriculum developers for Early Childhood Education and Act as consultants for private and public nursery schools.
